he judge read the jury’s verdicts into the record. We could hardly breathe. The waiting was painful. “As to count 1, second degree assault, Not Guilty!” “As to count 2, felony malicious mischief, Not Guilty!” The judge read off three more “Not Guilty” verdicts, before we could breathe again. For the first time in months my client could feel safe. A full across the board acquittal!
The jury thanked us after the trial. We still run into them from time to time, and they always comment on the story we told. You see we told a much different story then the prosecutor did. We told a story that made the jury mad at the prosecutor. We don’t let the prosecutors label you. We don’t let them define who you are.
Are you assuming that all lawyers can protect you this way? I can tell you that it takes years of study and practice for a lawyer to really learn how to do this.

I know you have questions and probably don’t even know where to start. Read on, because all your answers are here. Answers to the most important basic questions to put you on the path to suffer less pain, to save time, and even save money.
I Need A Criminal Defense Lawyer… Where Do I Start?
My guess is that you have never been in this situation before. It’s difficult to find a place to start. Most people have the following questions:
- What Should I Expect From A Criminal Lawyer?
- How Can I Compare Criminal Defense Attorneys To Find The Right One?
- How Much Is It Going To Cost?
- What Are My Options?

Make Sure That You Look At All Of Our Offers! We Offer Packages and Discounts That Other Lawyers Don’t.
Before I get too far ahead of myself here, I want you to know that we are a local law firm. We named the website Seattle Tacoma Defense Lawyer so you knew what we did, and that we cover all the areas in and around Seattle and Tacoma. Our firm is called Action Legal Group. We have Offices in Bellevue, Federal Way, and Spokane. We pretty much cover all of Washington State. We are dedicated to criminal defense cases. We handle almost all types of Washington criminal charges.
What Should I Expect From A Criminal Defense Lawyer?
Here are the 4 basic things a criminal defense lawyer can do for you:
- Get Your Case Dismissed.
- Negotiate a Better “Deal” For You.
- Take Your Case To Trial.
- Protect Your Future. Yes, there are things you need to consider here!
A criminal defense attorney’s job really breaks down to this:
- Analyze your situation.
- Understand your specific needs.
- Find viable options.
- Educate you on those options so that you can pick the best one.
- Execute your chosen options.
Have I simplified this? Yes! Obviously a lot more goes on behind the scenes, but these are the things that matter to you. You need to focus on the end results, while we focus on the steps to get you there.
There Are Hundreds Of Criminal Defense Lawyers, How Do I Find The Right One?
Ultimately what matters is that you can trust and communicate with your lawyer. Choosing a lawyer solely on price is usually a grave mistake. The cheapest lawyer is seldom the best. On the other hand, just because they are the most expensive doesn’t make them the best.
Warning Signs:
- Cited for misconduct from the state bar association.
- The cheapest prices are usually suspect. What corners get cut?
- Promises. It’s hard to give absolutes in legal advice. Things are not black and white and there are a lot of variables. Anyone who promises a certain result should be watched very closely.
- Scare Tactics: citing maximum penalties without giving you real world probabilities.
Good Signs:
- A lawyer that focuses on criminal defense.
- Training beyond law school.
- Members of relevant criminal defense organizations.
- A good amount of trial experience and advanced trial training.
- Awards and industry recognition.

All of Our Lawyers Are Independently Rated As “Superb” or “Excellent” By AVVO.com

What’s So Special About Action Legal Group? Why Are We Different?
#1 Our Training: We are actually criminal defense trial attorneys.
I’ll explain this distinction later. However, we have spent years and hundreds of hours developing and honing our techniques. Not to mention a huge chunk of our personal money.
I have to be honest. We did not develop these methods all on our own. In fact, we have worked with and have been trained by some of the best trial attorneys in America. To date there are only about 1,100 carefully selected lawyers in this exclusive group.
You don’t just pay some money and join this group. In fact, we had to pass a thorough review by a very distinguished committee of trial attorneys. Thousands of lawyers have applied and been rejected.
#2 Our Methods and Techniques:
We do not use the same old basic persuasion techniques used by most lawyers. Persuasion is an art and a science. These skills are not really taught in law school. You have to continue to train yourself to become good at persuasion and communication. Don’t you expect your lawyer to be good at persuasion?
#3 We Will Treat You As A Human Being and Not Just Another Client:
I think this speaks for itself. This is not an empty claim. This philosophy is actually at the core of our special techniques. We are not here to judge you, but we are here to help you. We’ve taken an oath that we would use all of our skills and abilities to help people just like you.
Here’s an analogy: If you were sick you might go see your family doctor. If your doctor told you that you needed surgery, you would expect to be referred to a surgeon. I bet you would be stunned, if the general practice doctor said he could do it. I bet you would say no, and find your own surgeon.
However, the surgeon could diagnose your illness and do the surgery. I doubt this would cause you any concern. After all, a surgeon is really a doctor with even more special training.
What does that mean to me? My belief is that a trial attorney is somewhat like being a surgeon. Like a surgeon we have your life in our hands. You trust us to have certain advanced skills. You trust that we have had the training and experience, when your life is at stake. What would you want or expect?
Warning: almost all criminal defense attorneys call themselves trial attorneys. Make sure they have actually had the necessary training and experiences. Unfortunately, Washington does not require or allow any board certification. So anyone can call themselves a trial attorney. It is our hope that they change this rule to protect folks who don’t know any better.
“You Will Feel Better, After You Find Out What Your Options Are.”
Look I’m not saying that your going to like everything that I have to say. I don’t sugar coat things. I just tell you how it is, and what you can do about it. Most people really appreciate our straight talk.
However, once you know that something can be done to make your bad situation better you will have some relief. You need some direction. You will find satisfaction in knowing what is in store, and what can be done.
“Knowledge is power!” I’m Going To Give You Some Power.
You will not have to pay a dime to meet with me for up to an hour. During this hour I will:
- Listen
- Understand
- Give You A Plan (those important things—called options)!
You will feel better, once you have some direction. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Even if you decide not to hire us, you will walk away with valuable information that will help you make important decisions.

Delay is death. Your case is only getting worse.
You are literally getting weaker, while the government’s case gets stronger and stronger.
Will the evidence we need to defend you still be there? Will memories be as good? Will you miss important early opportunities? Don’t screw yourself! Harsh I know, but it kills me when I see a good case go bad because of delay.
